The Eta Aquarids meteor shower, linked to Halley's Comet May 3-4

Peak Activity:
The Eta Aquarids meteor shower is expected to peak around the night of May 3 and into the early morning hours of May 4.
Optimal Viewing Time:
The best time to view the shower will be in the hours before dawn on May 4.
Moon Phase:
The first quarter moon will set before the radiant rises, providing excellent viewing conditions with minimal moonlight.
Location:
The shower is most easily seen from the southern tropics, but a lower rate of meteors will also be visible in the Northern Hemisphere close to sunrise.
Meteors per hour:
Under ideal conditions, observers in the southern hemisphere could see up to 30 meteors per hour, while those in the northern hemisphere might see 10-20 meteors per hour.
Earthgrazers:
Meteors from this shower sometimes create "earthgrazers," long streaks of light that trail low along the horizon.
