Be ready to feed a crowd for Memorial Day! Tybee Marine Rescue Squadron Annual BBQ Boston Butt Sale, Friday May 24 noon-8:00pm and Saturday May 25 from 9:00am until 6:00pm or until sold out. Cost is $25.00 for whole or chipped butts. Location will be the MRS Headquarters on Lazaretto Creek next to Captain Mike’s Dolphin Tours. All proceeds go to support the Tybee Marine Rescue Squadron. The MRS is an all-volunteer organization serving the Tybee area since 1959.

The Trybee Island Sprint supports scholarship-based programming for children’s groups, sea turtle conservation, shorebird rescue, and enables the Tybee Island Marine Science Center to offer outreach programs in the community.
RACE DESCRIPTION
Swim:
The swim portion will be a 750 meter ocean swim. Participants will swim out 50 meters, then turn parallel to the shore and swim with the current for 650 meters prior to swimming back into shore. The transition area is located just on the otherside of the boardwalk and baby pools will be provided for rinsing the sand off your feet.
Bike:
The bike is an out and back ride which is nearly completely flat. There is one hill which is the bridge off of Tybee Island. One mile after the bridge, participants will turn right into Fort Pulaski State Park, do a loop around the park and then head back to transition. The bike is full of beatiful marsh-scapes and coastal birds. The bike should prove to be VERY fast.
Run:
The run course will be an out and back in the neighborhoods around Tybee Island. Participants will find aid stations at miles .75, 1.5 and 2.25. The course is completely flat and very fast.

Races start at 1:00 PM. The races will be run in heats. With prizes awarded for the winning duck of each heat. Grand prize for final heat. Lucky Ducky Derby is a fundraiser for our year round pool on Tybee.
Adoption certificates for each racing toy duck is $5.00 or 5 duckies for $20. Adoption certificates will be on sale at various businesses around Tybee or from Community Pool Committee Members. Celebrate America’s birthday with a spectacular fireworks display. The fireworks show can be enjoyed from the Tybee Island Pier and Pavilion, the beach or anywhere on the eastern side of Tybee Island.
This popular event is free and open to everyone.

The annual Labor Day Beach Bash will get underway on Tybee Island on Sunday, September 1st, 2013.
Folks can enjoy ocean breezes, live music and fireworks from the Tybee Pier and Pavilion. Free live entertainment from the Swingin’ Medallions will start at 7 p.m. The band has performed live with Bruce Springsteen and has been featured in the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
Folks can enjoy the fireworks display from the pier, the beach or anywhere on the island. The fireworks will blast off around 9:15 p.m.

Tybee Island Pirate Fest is your ultimate destination for Columbus Day weekend entertainment. Warming up for our Friday and Saturday night headliners, several bands will keep the crowd moving throughout the afternoons and early evening. Daytime entertainment includes live music, pirate performers, street performers, magicians, puppeteers, weaponry demonstrations, and few surprises in between.
Tybee Island Pirate Fest is fun for pirates of all ages. Our littlest pirates enjoy an entire area devoted to quality family entertainment. Activities include bounce houses, magicians, storytellers, puppets, live pirate demonstrations, face painting, and many more surprises.
