Tybee Polar Plunge

The most highly anticipated event of the New Year this side of the Atlantic is the 17th annual Tybee Polar Plunge. Thousands will flock from near and far to solidify their New Year’s resolutions with a bold plunge into the ocean. The Polar Plunge is the best way to kick your 2017 off right, and since we enjoy a comfortably cool winter in the Lowcountry, the ‘polar’ part of it won’t be too much a problem. Tybee Frydee Feeyoud!

Don’t miss Tybee Post Theater‘s debut of its own live game show. This kooky, quirky show is sure to be the talk of the town for the rest of the year. See two of Tybee’s most well-known families in heated contest. Expect comedy and calamity at the Frydee Feeyoud! It’s just the first of what will likely become a uniquely Tybee tradition. Tybee MLK Parade

Each year, Tybee hosts the MLK Parade in commemoration of the life and work of this cherished human rights leader. Expect music, floats and a celebration of community at this important annual event.

Tybee City Limits

Local music lovers should get their tickets in advance for the first Tybee City Limits performance of 2017. This monthly music showcase brings talented singer-songwriters and bands from the region to center stage. This time around, celebrated country band Lyn Avenue will take the stage, followed by Savannah’s own Americana ensemble, Wood and Steel. Get your tickets here.
