7 Top March Events To Attend On Tybee Island

Just 15 miles east of Savannah, Tybee Island is bustling with events as the weather continues to get more and more picture-perfect. Spring may not have officially sprung, but these outdoor events on our island will have you feeling like it has!

1. Challenge Walk MS: Savannah & Tybee Island

Test your strength and help end multiple sclerosis for good by joining this three-day, 50-mile challenge. In collaboration with nine National MS Society chapters, each mile walked and every dollar raised will help reach the goal of a world free of MS. Walking locations include the city of Savannah (21.5 miles), Skidaway Island (18.5 miles) and Tybee Island (10 miles). Visit here or here for more details.

2. Tybee Beach Cleanup

Give back to the environment with One Ocean Global for their worldwide beach clean up. Tybee Clean Beach Volunteers will provide grabbers and buckets to cut down on waste and will also cover parking fees for those who RSVP. Be sure to drink out of recycled plastic or metal water bottles and bring a lunch inside reusable containers on this day.

3. An Evening with Devon Allman

The Devon Allman Band will bring the Southern rock scene to Tybee in honor of Allman’s third solo album, Ride or Die. His famous father, Gregg Allman, is a Richmond Hill native, but Devon has paved his own way to the top, climbing to No. 1 on the Billboard Blues charts. Grab tickets before they sell out here.

4. 15th Annual Tybee Island Irish Heritage Celebration Parade

Dress in green and celebrate Irish Heritage and local Irish families with this free, family-friendly parade. Floats, marchers and musical bands will begin the procession at Tybee City Hall and continue down Butler Avenue and Tybrisa Street.

5. Fish Fry at The American Legion 154

The third Thursday of every month, the American Legion Post 154 on Tybee Island hosts a local fish fry. Fish, fries, hush puppies, coleslaw, grits, drinks and desserts are available for purchase with dinners ranging between $10-$12.

6. The Charlie Fog Band presents The Grateful Dead

The Charlie Fog Band will host an evening celebrating the music of The Grateful Dead. The full Grateful Dead theater show will include two sets starting at 7 p.m., light shows, T-shirts, beer and wine! Grab tickets here.

7. “Those Were the Days!”

Experience America’s greatest songs of the ’60s with iconic folk music songwriter and performer, William Florian, a former lead singer of the famous New Christy Minstrels. Music of Peter Paul & Mary, John Denver, Pete Seeger, The Mamas & The Papas and uplifting originals will be presented with amusing stories in an intimate show.
